Phone numbers and the primary number

A person can hold any number of phone numbers.

Order sets the primary

The first number in the list is the primary. There is no separate switch to set one.

Drag a number to the top using the handle on its row to make it primary. The change takes effect when you save.

This is worth knowing because the primary number is the one shown first everywhere: on the property card, in the People tab, and in the share composer.

How numbers are stored

Type a number however you like. Formatting is preserved as you entered it, and matching is done on the digits alone, ignoring punctuation and a leading US 1.

That is what lets the Properties search find a lead by phone number regardless of how it was typed.

Changing the primary from the share composer

Picking a different number while sharing a property also promotes it. If you share an owner's mobile instead of their landline, that mobile becomes the primary from then on.

This is intentional. The number you actually reach someone on is the number that should be at the top. It is worth knowing before it surprises you.
